Contacted a live-out landlord via spareroom.co.uk. They advised me to contact Bridgfords regarding a viewing.I made plans to go for a 5pm viewing that day. At around 4:45pm, I received a phone call cancelling the viewing. I received a rather lacklustre apology. They had apparently gotten confused with another property they thought was vacant, and as they hadn't given the tenants 24 hours notice, they would have to cancel.When I asked if they could at least ask the tenants, as I had had to rearrange travel arrangements last minute in order to come and view the property that evening, they then said they didn't have the details of the tenants, because the property was such a recent listing.I re-contacted the landlord to let them know what had transpired. They were somewhat perplexed, saying that Bridgfords had contacted them for the tenants details at around 4pm that day, which surprised her as she had already given them.She said she would be calling them the next day to complain as it was not good enough, and apologised for me being messed around.
Booked a viewing and had this confirmed by text, waited for 30 minutes and nobody showed up. No email or call to say it had been cancelled just left waiting. Drove from seaburn to Newcastle and paid for parking for no reason, absolute waste of time.
I write this review from the perspective as both a tennant and new homeowner.I first used Bridgfords 5 years ago who found me the perfect apartment suited to my needs and within my budget. They perfectly negotiated the contract on my behalf with the landlord and I spent 5 happy years there as a tenant. Any minor issues I faced over the term they sorted out promptly and efficiently and all the staff I have had dealings with I found to be helpful, friendly and professional.I now own the property and Bridgfords were tremendously supportive and helpful throughout the 1st time buying process.I would definitely recommend them to tenants and buyers alike and look forward to doing business with them again in the future.Thanks to everyone.
