Avoid at all costs, unprofessional, arrogant and defensive. They let themselves into your property without notice or cause, pass your details onto third parties and blatantly flaunt the law.... numerous illegalities in their tenancy agreement and are currently under investigation by numerous agencies.
If you're looking for an estate agent who won't hesitate to rip you off with agency fees and mess you around when it comes to returning your deposit, you'll find few better Newcastle agencies than Walton Robinson.While WR probably won't be kind enough to reply to your emails in a professional or timely manner throughout the year, they will probably be kind enough to enlist the help of a local cleaning company to excessively charge you for cleaning at the end of your tenancy. If you haven't taken over 500 photos of the state of your property at the start of your tenancy, don't expect to forgo a 180 cleaning charge and at least another few hundred for repairs.To be fair to them, they are a terrible company who lack basic levels of professionalism. Mid-way through negotiating our dilapidations down (to a still extortionate amount), the member of staff assigned to our account left the company around 10 working days after we had been told to expect our deposit back. Only after chasing this up were we told by another member of staff that the previous colleague had left the company, and the delay in having our deposit transferred was/is down to "moving to a new system in the office, so this may have caused an error in regards to the system" (actual quote).We are STILL waiting for our deposit with nobody willing to give an updated expectation as to when we will receive it, and it appears colleagues have a culture of passing the buck rather than taking initiative to sort issues out.
Literally the worst agency in Newcastle. Rude staff, took them 4 months to sort out maintenance for us that could be fixed in 5 minutes and completely rip you off. Avoid at all costs.
They are talking to you nonstop when they want their agency fee (extortionate) then disappear as soon as you move in, can barely get hold of them to sort anything! Then when getting the deposit back they team up with the landlord to fleece you for as much money as possible and dont give you help! Would 100% not recommend, awful service all round.
