Good play areas could be better maintained
Hodgkin park is a mini haven in the benwell area. Good place to take professional photos and comfy for family hangouts.
It's a shame the park has never been a place I would go to, The council only did do improvements because of the new houses that have been built. Lot of scum hang out there.
It is a nice quiet park grounds are kept quite nice too but what spoils it is the pond near the bottom of the park. The pond is basically a dumping ground for people. The water is filthy, their is a shopping trolley in their, a suitcase, a pram all kinds of stuff.
Nice place to go for a walk with family or your canine friends. There's a playground for children and separate space for playing basketball. There's fair amount of space for walking dog or letting them of the lead as the place is fenced. It could do with better maintenance as there can be occasionally glass found.
