Formerly the site of the long-disappeared West Gosforth Station, its modern replacement is actually quite well-designed and there are both stairs and lifts down to both platforms from street level, with the whole platform area being covered by a low concrete ceiling. However, whilst providing plenty of protection from precipitation, this means that there is a complete lack of direct sunlight in winter so it can get rather chilly to say the least.Forming part of a transport Interchange, there are bus stops immediately outside the entrance with regular services running both northwards into Northumberland and in the opposite direction towards Newcastle City centre, though the car park above the station is really too small to cope with demand. A small but very handy shop can be found in the concourse where sweets and newspapers can be purchased.Quite busy at the beginning/end of the working day.

This is the first time I've ever felt the need to review a car park, to warn others just how awful it is. The specific, massive problem is the narrowness of the ramps between floors, and the difficulty is actually negotiating them. I got into the car park OK but simply wasn't prepared to risk trying the next ramp. Reversing against the flow of traffic wasn't easy but much less risky than trying to go up. I then had the challenge of negotiating a down ramp with the same problem. I spent several minutes waiting for the car in front to negotiate it, their passenger was very carefully directing them. Luckily I had a passenger who could do the same for me but it still took a lot of doing. The amount of paint on the concrete around the ramps is a strong indicator of just how difficult it is to negotiate. The car park was just about full so perhaps regular users eventually get the knack, or just don't care about their paintwork. But if you're a visitor avoid like the plague, and if you're parking to use the Metro drive the short distance to Kingston Park

Useless. Never on time . More delays than anything

Car park smells. But it's very cheap

For a metrone station it's better than average with a shop, parking and even staffed on occasion. The parking stair do smell though.
