Newcastle Central station is a Grade 1 listed building, designed by Architect John Dobson. The main entrance portico on Neville street originally took vehicle traffic and served as a drop off point. Today, though it is enclosed with glazing and serves pedestrians only. One notable feature is the curved platforms.

One of the most impressive stations in the country. Despite having 12 platforms, it's quite easy to find your way around. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful
